Meltdown is a four part documentary about the 2008 financial crisis. It was produced by the CBC in Canada and Al Jazeera in Qatar. Even though most of this is old news, I am still fascinated by this story. It's a pretty good documentary, even if some of the economics are way off and it's overly dramatic about serious stuff. There are some really interesting perspectives that I was not aware of or didn't hear much about when they did happen.
Episode One: The Men Who Crashed the World
Episode Two: A Global Financial Tsunami
Episode Three: Paying the Price
Episode Four: After the Fall
There is also a fun movie that came out yesterday called Margin Call starring Kevin Spacey, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Irons, Stanley Tucci, and a lot of other famous actors. It's a drama, but it reminds me of a horror movie, except the monster is the financial panic. Either way, it looks right up my alley and I can't wait to see it! Here's the trailer:
